Material performance.

1, polysulfone is amber transparent solid material, high hardness and impact strength, non-toxic, good heat and cold resistance and aging resistance, can be used under -100 – 175 degrees for a long time. It is resistant to the corrosion of inorganic acids and alkaline salts, but not to aromatic hydrocarbons and halogenation;

2、The abrasion resistance of the material can be greatly improved by glass fiber reinforced modification;

3, Polysulfone can be modified with ABS, polyimide, polyether ether ketone and fluoroplastics to make modified products of polysulfone, mainly to improve its impact strength and elongation, solvent resistance, environmental resistance, processing performance and plating. Molding properties:

1. Amorphous material with high moisture absorption, 0.2%-0.4% water absorption, must be fully dried before use and prevent re-absorption of moisture. Ensure that the water content is below 0.1%;

2、Moulding performance is similar to PC, poor thermal stability, decomposition starts at 360 degrees;

3, poor liquidity, fast cooling, suitable for high temperature and high pressure molding. The mould should have sufficient strength and rigidity, with cold wells, short runners and a sprue size of 1/2-1/3 of the wall thickness of the plastic part;

4, in order to reduce the internal stress of the injection moulded products, the mould temperature should be controlled at 100-140 degrees. After moulding, annealing can be carried out in a glycerine bath at 160 degrees for 1-5 minutes or in an air bath at 160 degrees for 1-4 hours. Annealing time depends on the size and wall thickness of the product;

5, polysulfone in the molten state is close to the Newtonian body, similar to polycarbonate, from the liquidity is more sensitive to the temperature, in 310 degrees – 420 degrees, the temperature increases every 30 degrees, the liquidity will increase 1 times. Therefore, the main way to improve the processing fluidity is to increase the temperature when molding.
