PA12 performance:
PA12 is a semi-crystalline crystalline thermoplastic material. Its properties are similar to PA11, but the crystal structure is different. PA12 is a good electrical insulator and like other polyamides does not affect insulating properties due to moisture. PA12 has good impact resistance and chemical stability. Compared with PA6 and PA66, these materials have lower melting point and density and have very high moisture regain. PA12 has no resistance to strong oxidizing acids. The viscosity of PA12 mainly depends on humidity, temperature and storage time. It’s very fluid. The shrinkage rate is between 0.5% and 2%, which mainly depends on the material variety, wall thickness and other process conditions. PA12 has the advantages of low density, low melting point, high decomposition temperature, low water absorption, excellent low temperature resistance, and anti-noise effect. Good and other excellent performance. PA12 products have good dimensional stability and are easy to form and process. PA12 has excellent alkali resistance, detergent resistance, and oil resistance. It is resistant to alcohol, inorganic alkene acids and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is not resistant to concentrated inorganic acids and amino hydrocarbons. It is soluble in phenol.
The relative density of PA12 is 1.02g/cm3, which is lower in nylon products; because of its low content of amide groups, the water absorption rate is 0.25%, which is also lower in nylon. The thermal decomposition temperature of PA12 is greater than 350°C, and the long-term use temperature is 80-90°C. PA12 film has good air tightness, and the water vapor transmission rate is 9g/m2. PA12 is resistant to alkali oil, yeast and inorganic diluted acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc.
