Calcium carbonate is currently the most commonly used inorganic powder filler. It is non-toxic, non-irritating, and odorless; it is white and has a refractive index similar to that of many plasticizers and resins.

It cannot be thermally decomposed and discolored under high temperature. Calcium carbonate is easy to be made into different particle sizes, and the filled plastic composite material has better impact resistance. The addition of calcium carbonate to PP materials is one of the most commonly used PP modification methods, which has minimal interference to the coloring of PP materials; it is stable in a wide temperature range, has low hardness, and a large amount of filling has less wear strength on the equipment.
