Modified PPO is mainly used in automobiles as parts with high requirements for heat resistance, flame retardancy, electrical properties, impact properties, dimensional stability and mechanical strength. For example, PPO/PS alloy is suitable for wet, loaded and high requirements for electrical insulation, good dimensional stability, suitable for the manufacture of automotive wheel covers, headlamp glass inserts, tail lamp housings and other components, but also suitable for the manufacture of connection boxes, fuse boxes, circuit breakers and other automotive electrical components.

PPO/PA alloy has excellent mechanical properties, dimensional stability, oil resistance, electrical insulation and impact resistance due to its excellent mechanical properties. It can be used to make automotive exterior components such as large baffles, buffer pads, rear dampeners, etc. The PPO/PA alloy will be used in the future for engine hoods with high glass transition temperature requirements.

PPO/PBT alloys have a high heat deflection temperature and are less sensitive to moisture, making them an ideal material for the manufacture of automotive exterior panels.

The direction of development of the automotive industry is high-grade, miniaturisation, light weight and diversification, and the study of plastic instead of steel in automotive applications has become very active.
