Processing and molding: Like most thermoplastic molding materials, PBT resin is quite sensitive to long-term heat exposure. Long residence time and excessively high melt temperature should be avoided. A relatively small increase in the screw speed can lead to a sharp increase in the melt temperature, while the controller setting value remains unchanged, so it is also necessary to detect the melt temperature on site. The decomposition temperature of PBT is about 280℃, so it should be controlled at 235-245℃ during production. The rapid crystallization characteristics and crystallization rate of PBT resin allow a wide range of mold temperature without significant impact on the physical properties of the resin product. When processing non-reinforced PBT resin, the usual temperature range is selected at 38-60°C. Higher mold temperature usually makes the surface of the part smooth and shiny. When using reinforced PBT resin, it is recommended to use a mold temperature higher than 66℃ and allowable large injection rod speed, fast filling rate, and higher injection pressure to improve the surface aesthetics of reinforced PBT resin injection parts.
