④ 成型阻燃PBT时,注塑机的相关部件应进行防腐处理
3产品和模具设计①产品的厚度不能太厚。PBT对间隙非常敏感。因此,产品的过渡应通过电弧连接
②PBT的成型收缩率较大,在1.7%到2.3%之间,模具必须有一定的拔模角度
③模具需要配备排气孔或排气槽
④浇口直径应较大
⑤模具应配备温度控制装置。模具的最高温度不能超过100°C。

4原材料制备
注射成型前应进行干燥,含水率应控制在0.02%以下。采用热风循环干燥时,当温度为105℃、120℃或140℃时,相应时间不超过8h、5h、3h。材料层厚度小于30mm
5注射成型工艺参数①PBT的分解温度为280℃,实际生产中一般控制在245~260℃之间
②喷射压力喷射压力一般为50~100MPa
③注射速率PBT具有较快的冷却速率,因此应使用较快的注射速率
④ 背压成型PBT的螺杆转速和螺杆转速不宜超过80r/min,一般在25~60r/min之间,背压一般为注射压力的10%~15%
⑤模具温度一般控制在70~80℃,各部位温差不超过10℃
⑥成型周期一般为15~60秒。

Characteristics of PBT (Polybutyl Terephthalate)
1. Mechanical properties: high strength, fatigue resistance, dimensional stability, and small creep (very little change under high temperature conditions);
2. Heat aging resistance: the enhanced UL temperature index reaches 120~140℃ (long-term outdoor aging resistance is also very good);
3. Solvent resistance: no stress cracking;
4. Stability to water: PBT is easy to decompose when exposed to water (use caution in high temperature and high humidity environments);
5. Electrical performance: Insulation performance: excellent (it can maintain stable electrical performance even under humidity and high temperature, it is an ideal material for manufacturing electronic and electrical parts); Dielectric coefficient: 3.0-3.2; Arc resistance: 120s
6. Molding processability: ordinary equipment injection molding or extrusion molding. Due to the fast crystallization speed and good fluidity, the mold temperature is also lower than that of other engineering plastics. When processing thin-walled parts, it only takes a few seconds, and it only takes 40-60s for large parts.

PBT has an obvious melting point, with a melting point of 225~235°C. It is a crystalline material with a crystallinity of up to 40%.
The viscosity of PBT melt is not affected by temperature as much as shear stress. Therefore, in injection molding, the influence of injection pressure on the fluidity of PBT melt is obvious.
PBT has good fluidity and low viscosity in the molten state, second only to nylon, and is prone to “casting” during molding.
PBT molded products are anisotropic. PBT is easily degraded in water at high temperature.
2 Injection molding machine
When using a screw injection molding machine. The following points should be considered.
①The amount of materials used in the product should be controlled within 30%~80% of the rated maximum injection volume of the injection molding machine. It is not suitable to use large injection molding machines to produce small products.
②The gradual three-section screw should be selected, with a length-to-diameter ratio of 15-20 and a compression ratio of 2.5-3.0.
③Self-locking nozzles should be used, with heating and temperature control devices.
④ When molding flame-retardant PBT, the relevant parts of the injection molding machine should be treated with anti-corrosion.
3 Product and mold design
①The thickness of the product should not be too thick. PBT is very sensitive to the gap. Therefore, the transition of the product should be connected by arc.
②The molding shrinkage rate of PBT is relatively large, ranging from 1.7% to 2.3%, and the mold must have a certain draft angle.
③The mold needs to be equipped with exhaust holes or exhaust grooves.
④The gate diameter should be large.
⑤The mold should be equipped with temperature control device. The maximum temperature of the mold cannot exceed 100°C.
⑥The flame-retardant PBT molding must be chrome-plated on the surface of the mold to prevent corrosion.
4 raw material preparation
Drying should be carried out before injection molding, and the moisture content should be controlled below 0.02%. When using hot air circulation drying, when the temperature is 105℃, 120℃ or 140℃, the corresponding time does not exceed 8h, 5h, 3h. The thickness of the material layer is less than 30mm.
5Injection molding process parameters
①The decomposition temperature of PBT is 280℃, so it is generally controlled between 245~260℃ in actual production.
②Injection pressure The injection pressure is generally 50~100MPa.
③The injection rate PBT has a fast cooling rate, so a faster injection rate should be used.
