PA12 is a high-performance special polyamide with good ductility and plasticity. Due to its low carbon content (between 0.12-0.16%), its hardness is relatively low.
Advantages of PA12
Compared with other PA products, PA12 has obvious advantages in hydrolysis resistance, chemical resistance, dimensional stability and impact resistance. At present, there are two main types of backplanes based on PA12: film-coated backplanes and co-extruded backplanes. The film-type backsheet APA uses PA12 as the protective layer and the traditional PET as the intermediate layer; the coextruded backsheet AAA uses the non-PET material (modified PA12) as the intermediate layer.
The test standard ISO1924 currently used for photovoltaic backsheets is not suitable. This standard is more suitable for determining the tensile properties of paper and paperboard. In comparison, the polymer test standard DIN53504S3A is more suitable for the tensile strength test requirements of photovoltaic backsheets, which can avoid the impact of clamps. “
